Mr. Chong was promoted to Senior Vice President in October 2007. Besides being responsible for all aspects of IT in Manulife Singapore, his role has been expanded to include Operations in September 2009. He is also a member of the Senior Executive Committee.

Mr. Chong started his IT career as an Analyst Programmer with a software company back in 1991. In 1994, he joined John Hancock as Senior Systems Analyst and steadily moved on to the rank of Assistant Vice President in 2001. He took over the management of Manulife Singapore's IT operations following the company's acquisition of John Hancock in 2004, and led a successful integration of the IT systems and operations.

Mr. Chong is an Engineer by training and has an Honours degree in Engineering from Nanyang Technological University. He has also obtained a Master degree (Master in Technology) from National University of Singapore.
