  • This includes a subscription to Centr—a digital health and fitness program curated by Chris Hemsworth—available to ManulifeMOVE members in Singapore, Hong Kong and Vietnam
  • The combination of targets and rewards helps ManulifeMOVE members build and maintain healthy habits.

SINGAPORE — Manulife has launched a new habit-building feature on its ManulifeMOVE app, empowering members to take better control of their health and wellness by setting their own fitness targets. Goal setting is incentivised by opportunities to achieve winning streaks and earn exciting rewards.

The feature, known as ‘Self-Set Target’, is designed to be a progression of ‘mini-challenges with incentives’, delivered through Rewardz launched in May 2020. With this new, innovative enhancement on the ManulifeMOVE app, members can challenge themselves by specifying a targeted number of steps they wish to achieve each day. A target met for four consecutive days earns members a streak, and seven streaks entitles them to a reward, including a subscription to Chris Hemsworth’s health and fitness app, Centr, for up to three months.

On Centr, ManulifeMOVE members can enjoy full access to the app’s exclusive workout programmes, meal plans, and meditation podcasts – all delivered by a team of internationally renowned health experts. They will also gain entry to Centr’s private Facebook community of over 50,000 members for 24/7 community support.

Manulife also onboarded a suite of leading and locally popular health, wellness, and lifestyle brands that customers can redeem rewards from with the cultivation of healthy habits. These brands include Fitness First, Cathay Cineplexes, Sweaty Betty, CircleDNA, and Happy Plugs.

“In this season, we know that health and wellness rank high on Singaporeans’ list of priorities, and yet sticking to healthy habits is often far from an easy feat, said Dr. Khoo Kah Siang, Chief Executive Officer, Manulife Singapore. “With this simple but meaningful enhancement to the app, we hope to put a spring in the steps of customers and give them a good and gratifying reason to clock those recommended 10,000 steps each day. Our constant goal at Manulife is to partner with our customers in achieving optimal all-round well-being – whether physical, mental or financial – and this app improvement is our commitment to make every day better for our customers.”

Enhanced Feature a Response to Rising Health Concerns

According to the Manulife Asia Care Survey launched in February this year, 95% of respondents in Asia have made personal efforts to improve their health and wellness with 58% exercising more regularly and 54% improving their diet. The sentiment in Singapore mirrored the regional trend, with 90% of locals taking steps to emerge stronger than before the pandemic through fitness (38%) and diet adjustments (41%).

Almost all respondents (92%) were also taking steps to track their health and fitness levels, including body weight, sleep quality, blood pressure, heartbeat and steps. In Singapore, 89% are conscientious about monitoring their health and pay the most attention to their steps compared to their regional counterparts.

“With Singaporeans already well on the road to taking greater control of their health, we’re confident that the boosts to ManulifeMOVE will only serve to motivate customers to work smarter and faster towards their goals”, added Dr. Khoo.
