Change dividend payout method (only for dividend-paying funds)

Changing your dividend payout method allows you to choose between reinvesting dividends to purchase additional units or receiving them as a payout.

What you need to know

  • Dividends below $40.00 will be automatically reinvested, regardless of your chosen payout method.
  • We encourage you to evaluate your risk tolerance, investment goals and investment time horizon before making an investment decision.

Instructions

  1. Download and complete the Policy Details Change Form.
  2. Upload the completed form, along with any supporting documents, to our customer portal, MyManulife (refer to steps below).

If you do not have a MyManulife account, you can easily follow the step-by-step instructions here to create your account.


FAQs

1. Log into your account via MyManulife.

2. Click on "Servicing".

3. Under "Upload Forms", click on "Other Transactions". Follow the instructions on the page to submit the completed form.

For non-trust policies, the Assignee or Policyowner must sign the form.

For a Trust policy under S49L, either of the following parties must sign the form:

  • Policyowner and any one Trustee (excluding the Policyowner), or
  • All Beneficiaries (each Beneficiary must be at least 18 years old)

For a Trust policy under S73, the Policyowner and all Trustees must sign on the form.

For non-trust policies funded by cash, we will make the payment to the Assignee or Policyowner.

For a Trust policy under S49L, we will make the payment to the Trustee or Beneficiary who signs on the form.

For a Trust policy under S73, we will make the payment to all Trustees.
