Multi-Cancer Detection (MCD) test* through Manulife's partnership with Guardant Health
As part of our commitment to supporting healthier futures, we have partnered with Guardant Health to offer the Multi-Cancer Detection (MCD) test*, an advanced cancer screening test designed to help more people get screened by using a single blood test to look for signals of different cancers.
What is a Multi-Cancer Detection (MCD) test*?
The MCD test* is an advanced cancer screening test that uses a simple blood draw that is intended to detect 10 common cancers - bladder, colorectal, breast, prostate, oesophageal, gastric, liver, lung, ovarian and pancreatic cancers. It may detect cancer even before symptoms appear.

How is a Multi-Cancer Detection (MCD) test* performed?
A doctor appointed by Guardant Health will first meet with you to explain the MCD test* and determine your eligibility for the test. A simple blood draw will be conducted after the doctor consultation, followed by nursing guidance to ensure post-draw comfort. Fasting is not required, but you are recommended to stay hydrated. You may resume normal activities after the blood draw.
Who should consider a Multi-Cancer Detection (MCD) test*?
The Guardant Health’s MCD test* is not indicated for use in pregnant women and for people with a known diagnosis of cancer. Your clinical eligibility for Guardant Health’s MCD test* will be determined by the medical provider with whom you have scheduled your appointment.
With so many other multi-cancer detection tests available, why should I get Guardant Health’s MCD test*?
Guardant Health is a leader in blood-based cancer tests for over a decade. The MCD test* by Guardant Health is backed by over 1 million oncology blood samples tested by Guardant Health1, a company that has demonstrated scientific rigour through over 600 peer reviewed publications1.

Does this cancer screening test diagnose cancer?
The Guardant Health’s MCD test* does not diagnose cancer. Even with a positive signal, the individual should follow up with his/her physician for diagnostic follow-up to confirm the presence of specific cancer.
