Some investment‑linked policies* may apply a Premium Shortfall Charge when regular premium payments are missed. You may be eligible to request a refund of this charge once all outstanding premiums have been paid.
Eligibility for a refund of the Premium Shortfall Charge requires that all overdue premiums are fully settled, and the availability of this refund option may vary by plan.
Refund requests will be assessed on a case‑by‑case basis. Upon approval, the Premium Shortfall Charge will be refunded through the allocation of units, based on the prevailing fund’s unit price at the time of allocation.
* This option applies to Manulife SmartRetire, Manulife InvestReady and Manulife SmartWealth policies only.
